Last top in 2007! Amazing year, by the way. Not much happened and yet everything seemed to be moving around us, musically as well as socially.
I must apologise for missing last week's top as there's no way to view it - I was just caught up with real life and CDs instead of iTunes and all that stuff. I even decorated a tree. Badly and in between coffee dates, but still. Imagine me trying to sneak in a blogging session. Not pretty, not seasonal.
Here's the last top of last year (has-beens, I'm sure):
1. Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky - my music teacher hates me for not spelling his name Piotr Ilici Ceaikovski, but I usually obey LastFM. I'm such a conformist thanks to my laziness.
2. Philip Glass - because there's nothing like contemporary composers to make one sleep well.
3. Radiohead
4. Damien Rice
5. Belle and Sebastian
6. The Streets
7. Massive Attack
8. Broken Social Scene
9. Yann Tiersen
10. Johnny Cash
A propos of nothing, I had the most perfect Christmas Eve. I must thank my parents for divorcing in December (at long last) and Ana for being a wonderful hostess and an even better friend.
New Year's Eve was also rather fun, including mass nakedness and stuff we could be arrested for. I'm not going to be specific. It was good. Anyways, I first spent an hour in Loft and nothing at all happened except my friends being funny - I could have that as home, dudes! So not worth the money. The music bored me to tears (while making it clear I'd make a nice DJ), the people were all sitting down nicely, I think I rolled my eyes the whole time. What's the point in paying if one doesn't let loose? I might as well go see my elder relatives for free. They have better booze anyway.
Hope y'all enjoyed the holiday - I'm preparing to receive some more belated Xmas gifts from my wayward mother and best friends, so all's not finished.
