Save or Cancel 1st Anniversary Party

I went to MNAC (the Contemporary Art Museum for you non-Bucharest folk) for the party on Saturday night and I must say, I had fun. The place was a bit dead at first but quickly picked up speed, and while the music wasn't terribly impressive it was certainly danceable. Kept me moving until 3, at least, I had somewhere else to be, but people weren't slowing down. I'd say it was a success.

New Year's Wishes

I hope your holiday was at least half as fun as mine, dears, but if not, next year come close to the arctic halo and I guarantee proper debauchery. It comes in 'organic' and 'plastic fantastic.'

In any case, we all managed to get a year older and a fraction wiser in the ways of the world. Congratulations! I trust you're geared up to make 2009 memorable like yours truly.

I'm getting excited about Rokolectiv. For those who haven't been following the grapevine in recent years, Rokolectiv is the only thing worth flying in to Bucharest for no matter where in Europe you are. It's in mid-Spring, so start brushing up on your internet stalking skills for some serious prowling. By the time things become common knowledge, chances are you're way behind with it. I look forward to seeing the line-up, but won't go every night - I'm spending my nights writing lately.

I noticed some very very interesting high school kids around (which I'd known for a while), so if you're a night owl keep your eyes open and buy them a drink. They're sweeping a lot of old classics out of the way and a breath of fresh air is always welcome.

There will be some rather fun things going on at the Post-Indie headquarters in '09, but right now I have a glass of vodka with my name on it and a book to read so plug in your headphones and start plotting your leisure, because everything else has a way of working out.

Happy new year!
